My Current Protein Works Stack (What I Actually Use Every Day)

What are the Best Protein Works Products?
Because I’m talking about Protein Works a lot, I get a lot of questions like:
- “What do you actually use every day?”
- “Which products are worth it?”
- “Where do I even start with supplements?”
So instead of answering everyone one by one, I’ve put all of my current staples in one place.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a “you must buy all of these” post. It’s simply:
- What I use most days
- How I fit each thing into my routine
- A few “if you’re on a budget, start here” tips
- What I think the best Protein Works products are
If you do order anything from Protein Works, you can use my code HANNAHC at checkout. It supports me and saves you money 💛
How I Think About Supplements
Before we get into products, a quick reality check:
- You dont need supplements to make progress.
- Food, sleep, training and stress matter more.
- Supplements can just make things easier and more convenient.
I use Protein Works mainly for:
- Hitting my protein target on busy days
- Supporting training and recovery
- Making my daily routine a bit more fun (coffee, matcha, hydration, etc)
Okay, lets get into what I actually use.
1. Whey Protein Extreme 360 – My Daily Non-Negotiable
If you only get one thing from this list, I’d honestly say whey protein.
What it is:
A high-protein powder that can be mixed into oats, yoghurt or shakes.
How I use it:
In the morning after my gym session to refuel and kickstart that muscle building we all want.
Why I love it:
- Makes it so much easier to hit my protein target (around 160g/day)
- Saves me cooking more meat or prepping extra complicated meals.
- Flavour options = it feels more like a treat than a chore

They also have different, budget friendly options for this which I love, including:

Do your own research as they have different ingredients and you want to make sure you choose one that’s right for you.
2. 100% Protein – Budget-Friendly Baking MVP
This is my “do everything” protein and the one I recommend most if you’re on more of a budget.
How I use it:
- In High-Protein recipes like brownies, muffins, pancakes, waffles, baked oats.
- Usually in classic flavours like strawberry, vanilla or chocolate
Why I like it:
- Cheaper option compared to some of the fancier blends
- Works really well in baking and recipes because the flavours are simple
- Perfect if you want to batch cook snacks for the week and bump the protein up or for mixing in yoghurt bowls
If you’re someone who likes to bake or meal prep snacks this is such a good all-rounder to have in the cupboard.
3. Protein Bars – My On-the-Go Lifesaver
These have saved me and my partner so many times when we are on the go.
How I use them:
- In my bag – always 2 bars in my bag for work, errands, train journeys, flights etc. One for me, one for my partner.
- As a quick snack before or after the gym if i’m tight on time
- Sometimes as a sweet craving fix
Why I like them:
- Zero prep, zero dishes, zero brain power
- Really good for on the go – have pretended “hanger” multiple times
- Easy way to add 10g protein without having to stop and cook
- Smaller than most bars and lower in calories – so I don’t eat more than I need.

If you are constantly out and about or get caught without food a lot, I’d honestly put bars pretty high on the prioroty list.
They do also have vegan protein bars, and ones higher in protein.
4. Creatine – Strength & Performance (With a Budget Option)
Creatine is one of the few supplements that’s really well researched for strength and performance.
I use either:
- Creatine 360
- Or Creatine Monohydrate as a budget-friendly option
How I use It:
- Daily, not just on training days
- I usually stir it into water, with powdered greens and Genesis hydration.
- I don’t overcomplicate timing – I just make sure I take it. It is almost always first thing in the morning, though.
Why I Like it:
- Supports strength and performance in the gym
- Heps with musce growth over time when paired with good training and protein
- The monohydrate version is great if you are on a tighter budget!

5. Genesis Advanced Hydration – My “Not Just Water” Drink
This is my go to most mornings.
What it is:
A hydration blend with electrolytes that I have in the mornings before my gym session.
How I use it:
- Every day. But especially important on spinning days and leg days
- When the weather is really hot
- When I know I will be in the lab or on my feet a lot.
Why I Like it
- Makes me actually want to drink in every morning
- Helps with energy and avoiding morning dehydration and that “headachy / drained” feeling
- I find it useful on hotter days or heavy sessions

6. Super Greens Extreme Hydration – My Morning Insurance Policy
This is my little “insurance policy” in a glass every morning.
How I use it:
- First thing in the morning or early in the day
- Mixed with my Creatine 360 and Genesis Advanced Hydration so it’s all in one drink.
- Sip it white i’m getting ready or faffing in the kitchen – usually whilst eating my pre-gym snack
Why I like it:
- I probably eat enough fruit and veg every day. But its a great insurance policy in case I don’t
- Peace of mind that i’m getting some extra goodness in
- Mixing with creatine + hydration means I’m ticking three boxes in one.
- It tastes really good with all three mixed together!
(Obviously it doesn’t replace veg completely, but it definitly helps me feel like i’m doing something nice for my body first thing.)
7. Omega 3 Ultra – One of My “Boring but Important Staples
Again, not glamorous – but useful.
How I use it:
- Daily, with my morning pre workout snack and greens concoction! (So I don’t forget and to reduce any fishy burps… yum!)
Why I like it:
- Helpful if you don’t eat much oily fish
- General support for health, brain, joints, etc
- It’s a small habit that I think is worth having in place long term
👉 [Omega 3 link]
8. Magnesium Tablets – Sleep & Recovery Support
Not exciting, but honestly a quiet MVP for me.
How I use it:
- In the evening, as part of my wind-down routine
- I pair it with other sleep-friendly habits (or try to anyway!) aka – less phone, more chill
Why I like it:
- Helps me feel more relaxed before bed
- Recover obviously feels better when I actually sleep
- Tiny habit, big long-term impact
(obviously, chat to a professional if you have health conditions / meds.)
9. Collagen – Joints & Skin
Collagen isn’t “essential” for everyone, but I do like it in my routine.
How I use it:
- Every morning with my greens, electrolytes and creatine drink.
Why I like it
- General support for joints, hair, skin, nails
- Easy to take every morning
👉 [Collagen link]
10. Protein Coffee Cooler – Caffeine + Protein in One
This is one of my more fun, “nice to have” items.
How I use it:
- At weekends, Instead of buying iced latte out (cheaper and higher protein = win win!)
- Good if I don’t fancy a milk shake but want something refreshing
Why I like it:
- Combines caffeine + protein
- Refreshing compared to a hot drink
- Great for summer
- makes it easier to get extra protein in without feeling like im forcing food

11. Iced Protein Matcha Latte – When I Want Something Different
This is a little main-character moment in a cup. It’s great made the way the instructions say but…
How I use it:
- Mixed into my yoghurt for my morning snack – for extra flavour
- When I feel like a “coffee shop drink” at work but still want protein
- Sometimes as a pre-study ritual… sometimes…. okay I’ve done that twice hehe!
Why I like it:
- Gives greek yoghurt extra flavour, so my yoghurt bowls taste a bit more interesting (I literally only add 5g each time!)
- Less jittery than extra coffee
- The creaminess! If you use 50% milk it turns out so creamy – but water is also lovely.

12. Peanut Butter – My Ride-or-Die Topping
I will always be a peanut butter lover! (as someone that used to hate it…!)
How I use it:
- On toast, rice cakes, yoghurt (sometimes a spoon from the jar… oops!)
- Often combined in yoghurt bowls or oats
- Instead of butter in high protein pudding recipes.
Why I like it:
- Adds Fats, flavour and satisfaction
- Makes high protein meals and sweet treats taste like actual food, not punishment
- A small amount goes a very long way for flavour!
Where to Start If You’re New / On a Budget
If you’re looking at this list and thinking “I cannot buy all that at once”, please dont…! 😅
When I started I only had Whey Protein Extreme 360 – That was it!
If I was starting from zero again, I’d build it up in this rough order:
- Whey Protein Extreme 360 – to help hit your protein target
- Creatine (monohydrate) – for strength & performance
- Protein Bars- For on the go or “emergencies”
- 100% Protein (for recipes & budget)
- Omega 3 + Magnesium – general health and recovery
- Genesis Advanced Hydration and Super Greens Extreme – if you train hard and get very hot and sweat a lot.
- “Nice to haves”: Protein Coffee Cooler, Iced Protein Matcha, Collagen, Peanut Butter, Super Greens Extreme,
You can layer things in over time if/when budget allows.
Final Thoughts…
These are the products that genuinly make my life easier as a busy gym girl who’s working, stuyding and trying to stay sane.
They do NOT replace good food, sleep and training – they just help me to:
- Hit my protein target
- Support training & recovery
- Enjoy the process a bit more
- Feel my best
